- Make a tax-deductible monetary donation. We encourage churches and organizations to consider adding the Mission to your missions/outreach budget, or to sponsor a fund drive for our organization.
- Consider a planned gift, such as a bequest upon death, charitable remainder and lead trust/unitrust, making the Mission the beneficiary of life insurance and retirement proceeds, transfer of appreciated securities and property, and via other giving vehicles. Please contact Rev. Gregg Woods if you desire to make a planned gift.
- Give us an opportunity to speak to your church or organization about the mission and services of Hartford Rescue Mission. We can tailor the presentation to your allotted time and interests.

Local Restaurant Owner Feeds the Hungry
Thomas Armstrong greets lunch hour customers by name as they pay their tab and make trips to the inviting buffet of authentic fare at his Rajun Cajun Restaurant, 2790 Main Street in Hartford. Born and raised in New Orleans, he has been in business at the current site of his northside eatery for three years.
Mr. Armstrong felt moved to help Hartford Rescue Mission after Rev. Gregg Woods visited him one afternoon and expressed the dire need to feed the poor and needy in Hartford's north end. "I just had to get involved," recalls Thomas. "I am moved by the needs that some individuals face and, even though I'm just one person, I felt I had the capacity to help." He supplies the entire meal for one night a week at the Mission, providing such favorites as chicken, fish, ribs and a variety of hearty sides. "I hope my actions motivate others to get involved," Thomas adds.
"Thomas Armstrong and the Rajun Cajun Restaurant are a blessing," expresses Rev. Woods. "I just shared the need and he responded in a generous way by providing meals every Tuesday evening."
